FAQ
What is a Giclée print?
Giclée prints are renowned for their quality and extreme longevity, which is why they’re displayed in museums, art galleries and private collections. For proper protection, consider a frame that is FSC certified and created from 100% acid-free materials. It keeps the artwork in mint condition across the years and ensures the colours stay true.
I have all my artworks printed by Ruijgrock Piezografie in Amsterdam. It's a family run business since 1977, they print for many established artists, galleries and museums in The Netherlands and beyond. Their machines, ink and paper are of the best quality available.
How do I take care of my print?
I carefully wrap my prints in protective acid-free tissue paper and bubble plastic before putting them in sturdy cardboard envelopes or postal tubes. If yours is sent in a tube; try to avoid leaving it rolled for too long. To uncurl or flatten a print, carefully remove it from the postal tube whilst keeping it covered in the tissue paper. Lay it out on a clean, flat surface, image side up. With the tissue paper covering the print’s image, place some smooth, flat objects (like books) on the ends and middle of the print. Let your giclée print relax over-night and it should be nice and flat. Avoid uncurling it by rolling the print the opposite way to receiving it, as you can easily crease it if done incorrectly.
Do you sell prints outside the ones shown on your webshop?
Yes I might, send me an email if you've seen anything you like outside my shop. Keep in mind that the price will be higher as I will have to give my printer a single order for such a particular print.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
I personally manage your order, from warmly wrapping them to waving them goodbye at the nearest postal office in Amsterdam. From that moment I no longer have any control, so it then depends on the shipping service. As a guideline; orders within the Netherlands usually take about a week. European orders anywhere between 1 to 3 weeks, anywhere else in the world might take up to a month.
Can I see where my package is?
Yes, I use Track & Trace. Once your package is registered at the postal service you will be sent a code by email to follow your parcel.
What happens when the print is damaged or faulty?
If you accidentally received the wrong item or the wrong quantity I will cover shipping return or exchange charges. Unfortunately I cannot be held responsible or liable for any damage caused by careless handling by postmen, for packages that couldn't be delivered to your address for any reason, or for parcels that got lost along the way. In the latter case, I will do everything in my power to try and locate your print.
Do you offer pickup for locals?
I do! If you live in Amsterdam you can use the code AMSTERDAM and no shipping costs will be added to your purchase. I'll email the address for you to pickup your print (it's in the Jordaan).
How much are the shipping costs?
Quite a lot in some cases.. And I'd love to personally deliver all my prints and see where they end up (I do look at Google Streetview sometimes :) but there's really not much I can change about the fact that I depend on the major postal companies . So, here's a list with pretty much every part of the world on it. Let me know if yours isn't:
€ 0,00: for pickup in Amsterdam Oud West. Use code AMSTERDAM and I’ll contact you so we can set a date.
€ 7,25: the Netherlands
€ 13,00: Belgium, Denmark (excl. Faroe Islands and Greenland), Germany, France, (incl. Corsica and Monaco), Italy (excl. San Marino and Vatican City), Luxembourg, Austria, Spain (incl. Balearic Islands, excl. Canary Islands), Sweden
€ 18,50: all other countries in Europe (excl. Russia)
€ 29,30: rest of the world
Any other questions? Don't hesitate to send me an email, I always enjoy hearing from you!
Sending all my love,
Leonie
